Along the Way
- things I learn and question through traveling.
Consume less. Create more.
“It’s funny, in a way, how a smartphone is meant to make your life so much easier, with just about every piece of information and tool you could need right there with you, at all times. However, wandering down the roads of this island with empty pockets, I felt so much ‘Leichtigkeit’ and so at ease, I couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt that way. It was almost like a dream, we had nowhere to be, no one to reply to on our phones, and I could just go about my day without ever knowing what time it was. I felt like I was LIVING again.”
My Sailing Journey - and why trying new things is worth it
“Exactly two years ago, I sailed for the very first time. Sailing had never been on my radar. Growing up in the mountains of Germany, I didn’t know anyone who sailed. A few years prior, the magic of the ocean had started drawing me in, with all its hidden surprises, and wild, breathtaking creatures. So, when I got the opportunity to go sailing, I didn’t hesitate. It felt like this was the door, the door I had subconsciously been waiting for, that I had been wanting to open so badly for a while now. For me, this experience meant I would learn to understand the ocean, when up to that point all I could ever do was wonder. Wonder what else there was to it. Wonder how it would feel to be a part of it, to be one with it.”
